Six Feng Shui Tips To Get Your Business Thriving From Your Home Office
The first thing is to make sure you have a dedicated area to work in. Don't do your work on the kitchen table, which you then have to clear or put to one side when it's time for dinner. Or try to compete with the TV, by working in the living area. If necessary, use a screen to help define your work area, or place the furniture in such a way, as to create boundaries for your office.
Secondly, try to face one of your positive directions. Aligning yourself with one of the positive directions helps you to focus more quickly, and provides clarity of thought and purpose. However, do make sure that by facing one of your positive directions, you do not compromise good form school placement. That is, do not have your back to the door, or place yourself in line with the door. If there is a conflict between good room layout, and being able to face one of your positive directions, let the good room layout prevail, and strengthen your personal energies with strategic use of colours and elements, again based on your year of birth.
Third is to make sure you don't overwhelm yourself with clutter. Organise a good filing and storage system for yourself. Whenever you feel overwhelmed with tasks and deadlines, stop whatever you are doing, and take at least half an hour to tidy up your work area. You will then be able to go back to your urgent and important priorities with less stress and mental confusion. Part of managing the clutter, is good time management skills. A large part of blood pressure problems comes from thinking about what we have to do, instead of doing it. So action! Do it now.
Fourthly, remember to put some plants into your home office area. Plants are environmentally calming and cleansing, and save the work area from being too technical a work place. Humans love to see nature; it has a deep restorative power. At the very least, some posters or paintings of a peaceful nature scene.
Fifth point. Have one prosperity symbol on your desk or close to your work area, to provide a visual affirmation of the value of your work. One of the big problems of working from home, is not feeling validated that your work is "real" and worth something. By the way, the South East area is the traditional prosperity direction. But don't forget to also activate the networking area in the North West. Your don't make money in isolation.
Sixth point, don't neglect the development of your business skills. Being good at your craft doesn't guarantee that your business will be a success, because you also need to know how to get your skills "out there". Feng Shui can clear your path of energetic obstacles, but if you are your own worst enemy by making errors of business judgment, then no amount of money toads and other good luck symbols can assist you. If you need to strengthen your business skills, consider activating the North East "Wisdom" area, by stocking a few good business manuals in this area, and remembering to take the time to read them. Good Feng Shui is a partnership of environment and free will.
